Abandoned Art

For a while, I have been interested in the idea of abandoned art or art abandonment. There are groups on Facebook and videos on YouTube that explain and show examples, but basically people leave various pieces of art (generally small) – maybe a painted rock or a pendant or a mini canvas – in public spaces and often with a note to be found by a random stranger in hopes of brightening someone’s day. So I have decided to do that with crochet. Instead of having a pile of cotton squares and polyester or toule scrubbies waiting to be given away because I can’t possibly use them all myself, I will leave them in public spaces in zippered bags with a note. You may want to visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/ArtAbandonment/ . Maybe you’re reading this right now because you found one of these bags. If so, I invite you to comment below or in the Facebook group ArtAbandonment. Maybe you make or do something that could be shared, but currently isn’t. If so, I hope you’ll consider joining in and abandoning some of your amazing or simple or happy or wierd art. Wouldn’t it be awesome to find random, small presents throughout your most normal days, or even better if you happened to be having a bad day? 🙂
